03 E Furiousmp3
Time/size: 4 mins 21 secs/5.98mb
Metal jam track: Metal progression in E (160 beats per minute/bpm)
Backing track instruments: electric guitar & bass
Progression: 4 bar progression: E7 riff x 2 bars, G5 x 1 bar, A5 x 1 bar
Suggestions: Play a tight straight beat and then double up on the kick using 8th and 16th notes. If you are a single bass drum player you can double the feel by playing the snare on all beats 1, 2, 3 & 4 and then play 16th notes on the 'an' & 'a' of 1-e-an-a, 2-e-an-a,...
If you are using a double kick go in and out of double time feel by playing a straight beat with 2 & 4 on the snare and then move to the snare on all beats 1, 2, 3 & 4 and straight 16th notes on the bass drum. Use both a semi open hi hat and move between a crash and the bell of your ride cymbal when playing the snare on all beats of the bar.

04 E Pedal To The Metal No Drumsmp3
Time/size: 6 mins 24 secs/8.81mb
Metal jam track: Metal progression in E (90 beats per minute/bpm)
Backing track instruments: electric guitar and bass
Progression is made up of: (E5-C5), (E5-Db5-D5) & (E5...D5-Db5)
Suggestion(s): Use a fast double triplet double bass drum to play with the guitar and bass on the first beat of the bar. Accent the '2' & '4-an' with the snare and crash cymbals. If you don't use a double kick then substitute the left kick with your left hand on the snare. So the double triplet on a double kick would read RLRLRL - Right foot, Left foot, R.... and if you don't use a double kick play the 'L' on your snare to give a similar feel.
